Looking for an Illusionary Weapon build so i can "tank"
I tried the search but currently not work. Just like the title said, i'm looking for a build that will utilize IW so i can do do melee dmg. Doesnt matter what's the secondary prof is, although i prefer Assassin. Thanks in advance.

Tanking as a mesmer? You'll never do melee damage if you chose to use Illusionary Weapon as your source of damage since it doesn't even allow you to hit the target with your weapon.
Read the sticky.

I'm not a fan for the Resistances, since if you face the other type, you're basically dead.
I think the IW 55 is well known enough. Beware of strippers.

Distortion + Spirit of Failure.
If going with Assassin second, try Dark Escape (Edit: IW will not end the stance).

I tried to use IW, Dark Escape, Distortion - Pretty rough on energy as the battle goes on. IW cost alot and renewing distortion every 5 secs eventually drain my energy. I will try to use Spirit of Failure to see if that can help with energy issue.

Sumasage, I just wanna apologize for asking this in your thread, but I didnt think I should start a new thread when I can just inquire about this in here as you might also be wondering the same thing, but then again, you're probably not a noobie like me
Hmm, I've actually been trying to think of a IW Mesmer build that includes protection vs strippers and the ability to maintain energy...
Would a Zealous sword work with IW? With IW not actually "hitting" anything, would you still gain that 1 en. per hit? - OKAY, nevermind about the Zealous thing, just read on guildwiki that mods like Zealous, Sundering, Vampiric, etc. DO NOT work with IW.
As for protection v.s. strippers, I was thinking Spell Shield (only lasts up to 17 seconds @ 12 Divine though) but when Spell Shield ends, all skills are disabled, meaning IW would be automatically stripped right? Otherwise there are no skills that will protect you from enchants unless you want to cap Spell Breaker/Shadow Form/Obsidian Flesh everytime you go out on your adventures

Nope... I think it just means you can't use any skills for x seconds when it ends. So you should be fine if you cast IW before it ends.
However, I don't think it's the spell you're after, unless you're going to continue casting spells while enchanted with IW.

To prevent enchantment stripping:
Blessed Aura + Archane Echo + Spellbreaker.
Or use IW + Holy Veil + Illusion of Weakness + Watchful Spirit
Attacks from Ilussion Weaponry does not account as a true attack. It bypasses defenses, so it does full damage.
If you take Assassin as a secondary, you can use Heart Of Shadow and Show of Distress to cover IW.
You can also use Channelling, if you cast spells too.
To help you tank, use:
Distortion + Spirit of Failure (as mentioned before) + clumsiness
Me/N is actually better because you get curses that hinder attackers a lot.

i've been testing out IW + Distortion + Dark Escape but i ran into low energy issue as the fight went on. 5 Energy every 5 sec for Distortion + losing energy when you evade really drain energy quick. Your combos seem to be pretty heavy energy too except for Spirit of Failure will give you some energy back.
I read some place that some people use IAS to attack faster therefore generating more dps. You will have to go warrior as secondary though.... any thought on this?

warrior secondary, at the least ranger, for attack speed buffs. you can use flurry from the warrior line with no dmg penalty.
in pve, the badguys are gonna jump on who is dishing out the dmg. the monks on the team will not appreciate healing you doubletime. if you die and the death penalty builds up it will get even worse.
it will be hard to get a group. harder as you go.

With high levels of illusion magic, you will find the cost of energy per evade drops, eventually to 1 I think. Spirit of Failure will give you 3 (if you have level 12 inspiration magic) for each miss by hexed foe. So you end up with more energy each attack by that foe.
Dark Escape is a stance. Distortion is a stance. You can only have 1 stance on at a time.
If you want attack speed increased, I would suggest either Flury - Warrior, or Tiger Fury - Ranger.

I use distortion while Dark escape is recharging. Still havent find a good build to balance between energy and way to reduce dmg.
